Richard Evans


Richard brings over 30 years of experience working in and around the Texas legislature. After serving as a staffer in the House, Senate and for then-Governor George W. Bush, Richard joined the Texas Association of Business where he rose to the position of Vice President of Governmental Affairs.


Evans has been listed on Capitol Inside's Top 100 Hired Guns and Corporate Lobbyist rankings.


Richard launched his own lobby firm in 2004 and represented corporate clients such as Las Vegas Sands, Medtronic, H&R Block, TriNet, Schneider Electric, SpeakWrite, Nova Medical Centers, Longhorn Health Solutions, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, Amerigroup, MWH Global, Stericycle, Sysco Food Services, Zachry Industrial and James Avery Craftsman. Richard also represented trade associations including the Texas Distilled Spirits Association, Texas Alliance of Nonsubscribers, Texas Association of Business, Texas Association of Health Plans, and Texas Destination Management Association. Richard most recently served in a corporate role as Director of State Government Affairs for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.


Richard’s policy issue areas include pharmaceutical regulation, health care, health insurance, workers’ compensation, Medicaid/CHIP, environmental regulation, energy savings performance contracting, staffing services, gaming, and alcoholic beverage regulation.
